I kept freezing in dating conversations, so I wrote down replies that actually worked.

I am not especially smooth. I just got tired of thinking of the right thing to say after the moment passed. This started as my own little cheat sheet. I am sharing it because a few friends asked for it and it seemed to help.

A few examples from the list. These are meant to sound like something a normal person would actually send.

When they ask something too personal, too soon
“Good question. What made you ask?”
It buys you a second and it makes them explain the intent.
When the chat is getting dry
“Okay, real question. What are you into outside of work?”
It nudges the conversation into something real without calling them boring.
When you want to suggest meeting without being weird
“You seem easy to talk to. Want to grab a coffee this week and see if we vibe?”
Clear, low pressure, and it sounds like a person.

This is how I use the list for myself. Pick a situation and a tone, then grab a few options.

If none fit, hit “another”.

I keep the rest of the list private mostly so it does not get copied everywhere and turned into spam. If you want it, it is $7. That mostly covers the time to keep it updated and organized.
